La<em> Harvard Medical School<\/em>, con la partecipazione dell&#8217;<em>Universita&#8217; canadese McGill<\/em>, ha sviluppato a questo fine una innovativa tecnica di produzione, descritta sulla rivista <em>Advanced Materials.<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>La biostampa in 3D<\/h3>\n<p>Pelle, cartilagine, protesi ossee. Gi\u00e0 da qualche anno la stampa di tessuti biologici in 3D \u00e8 una concreta possibilit\u00e0. Gi\u00e0 nel 2016, un dispositivo messo a punto dal <em>Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine<\/em> di <em>Winston-Salem, North Carolina<\/em>, era in grado di utilizzare <strong>cellule in sospensione<\/strong> come \u201cinchiostro\u201d, <strong>per produrre organi vivi da usare nei trapianti<\/strong>. Durante i primi esperimenti, sostenuti dallo <em>US Armed Forces Institute <\/em>per la medicina rigenerativa, gli scienziati del Wake Forest Institute avevano realizzato un frammento di osso di mascella e del tessuto muscolare, e trapiantato un orecchio stampato in 3D su alcuni topi da laboratorio.<\/p>\n<p>Negli anni la ricerca \u00e8 andata avanti, consentendo, passo dopo passo, di <strong>riprodurre vari organi a partire da una pasta di molecole organiche e cellule staminali<\/strong>.
